Australia is one of the most popular countries for students who are pursuing their educational goals abroad.

Currently, Australia is the third most popular destination for international students seeking education abroad, due to various reasons including cultural diversity, quality of education and friendliness of its people.

Student visa, Subclass 500 allows an student to stay in Australia for up to 5 years, as long as they meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a course of study in Australia
  • Must be 6 years or older and must have welfare arrangement if under the age of 18 (note: in such circumstance, Guardians may be eligible to apply for Student Guardian visa subclass 590)
  • Hold overseas health cover (OSHC) or fall in one of the exemption categories.
